Eckhart Tolle

Everything Maybe has gathered on this voice — summaries, tracked claims, and where they connect with or contradict other voices. Assembled automatically as the library grows. Featuring a source does not constitute endorsement.

Eckhart Tolle, born in Germany in 1948, is a spiritual teacher and author. He says his path began in 1977 with a profound inner shift he describes as a spiritual awakening, after which he left his doctoral studies at the University of Cambridge.

Tolle teaches presence — living in the present moment and observing the mind rather than being ruled by it — drawing on themes common to several contemplative traditions rather than a single lineage.

His book The Power of Now, published in 1997, has sold around sixteen million copies and been translated into more than thirty languages. His 2005 book A New Earth became a global bestseller after Oprah Winfrey selected it for her book club and co-hosted a webinar series with him.

Tolle's teaching is experiential and philosophical rather than scientific; it asks to be tested in practice rather than proven. Maybe presents it as one voice among many.
